Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using The Legal Social (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and The Legal Social ("TLS", "we", "us", or "our").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. The Service is intended for legal professionals and members of the public interested in legal topics. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate, current, and complete account information, and for maintaining the security of your credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. User content
You retain ownership of the content you post on the Service. By posting, you grant TLS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service. You are responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the rights to post it.
5. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Post illegal content, including content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Share information that is subject to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or violates the confidentiality of any ongoing legal proceeding or client matter.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited promotions.
- Violate any applicable bar rules on solicitation, advertising, or client relationships.
- Offer or hold yourself out as offering legal services in a jurisdiction where you are not authorized, or otherwise engage in the unauthorized practice of law.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service except as permitted by our robots policy.
- Distribute malware, exploit security vulnerabilities, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
6. Moderation and in-app safety tools
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, remove, or restrict access to content, and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or otherwise pose a risk to users or the Service. If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing admin@thelegalsocial.com.
The Service provides in-app safety tools. Users can (i) report any post, comment, or profile via the "…" menu on that item; (ii) block another user directly from any post or profile menu; and (iii) permanently delete their account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team within a reasonable timeframe, and content or accounts that violate these Terms may be removed or suspended.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on a small set of third-party providers for sign-in (Google, LinkedIn, Apple), crash reporting (Sentry), and product analytics (PostHog). See our Privacy Policy for details on what data each provider receives.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its branding, logos, software, and platform-generated content, is owned by TLS and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the TLS name, logos, or other proprietary content outside the Service.
9. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on the Service without authorization, you may send a notice of claimed infringement to our designated agent at admin@thelegalsocial.com. Your notice must include: (i) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorized agent; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (iii) identification of the material you believe to be infringing and its location on the Service; (iv) your contact information; (v) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner. We will respond promptly and may remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice.
10. Payments
The Service does not currently process payments. Any paid features introduced in the future will use Apple In-App Purchase (on iOS), Google Play Billing (on Android), or an equivalent in-app payment mechanism, and will be governed by additional terms presented at the point of purchase.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, the provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Content on the Service is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Use of the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and TLS or any user of the Service.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TLS and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TLS and its affiliates from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India for any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.
16. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after the changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
